few weeks ago I saw film Poetry (Poetry, 2010): work of South Korean director Lee and starring Changdong Junghee Yun. Since that day, I have not stopped recommending it to all people who love good cinema and good poetry, so this blog can not be excluded.
When I recommend a movie I do not like knowing too much before going to the room and, of course, I hate the "gutted" so I will try to avoid such temptations ...
Award for Best Screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival 2010, Poetry is a film of extraordinary beauty that offers a poignant argument. Amid the grief, poetry is a way of seeing the world, to understand the other, to enjoy life, to observe our surroundings, to be oneself ... You can be calm, peace and the hard road to perfection is only in the word. The
that every now and attend workshops, recitals and meetings "poetic" either in formal or bars are to smile at those moments of reflection, that almost childlike admiration towards established authors and other coincidences, are given in Madrid and South Korea ... are going to hear similar arguments and doubts about the role of poetry: What is it? Where is it? What is your secret and your writing? Why did seem to matter much just a few?
When the director wanted to make this movie and finally saw clearly what had been going around for years, was with a poet friend ... I said I would do a movie called "Poetry" and his friend replied it was something daring ... However, after eight weeks of its release, the lineup is still in theaters Madrid Alphaville Golem.
I encourage you to go see and visit the website of the film, where, among other things, you can read a dialogue between the director, Lee Changdong and Mouchard Claude (Professor Emeritus at the University of Paris VIII, associate editor of the magazine "Poetry", the author of several essays and books of poetry and translation, in collaboration with others, of English poems, Americans, Germans, Japanese and Korean).
That interview seems like a masterclass in what is poetry and its relationship with humans, and perhaps is a good clue to the film remains in the lineup.
